Online Music Theory exams in November

If you have candidates taking online Music Theory exams on 10 November, make sure you have sent them their login details and the online checklist link included in the same email as the log in details. They will need these well before the exam to: read the online checklist, download the exam software, run through the pre-exam set up and log in to test the practice questions. On the day of the exam the practice questions will not be available via the software but can also be found here under ‘More free resources’ . Candidates should open the software 15-30 minutes before the exam start time to run through the pre-exam set up. The live test will then be available at the exam start time. If you are a parent and do not have your child’s login details yet, contact the person who booked the exam.

We inspire musical achievement

ABRSM is the UK's largest music education body, one of its largest music publishers and the world's leading provider of music exams, holding over 650,000 assessments in more than 90 countries every year. As a registered charity, we also make significant donations towards music education initiatives around the world.

Founded in 1889, we have a long and storied history. But our mission has stayed the same: to nurture a love for music, and to inspire achievement in it. At ABRSM, we believe that everyone, wherever they're from, should have access to high-quality music-learning.

Globally renowned exams and assessments

In partnership with four Royal Schools of Music, we support music-making and learning across the globe. We offer pathways and resources for learners and teachers that help build musical skills and encourage progress.

Our core activity is providing graded music exams, assessments and diplomas. An ABRSM grade has a worldwide currency and our exams are designed to motivate learners at all levels and ages, providing realistic goals and tangible rewards for their achievements.

And much more

We support teachers and learners with a range of award-winning digital resources and publications, as well as host events and offer professional qualifications.

As a charity, we invest more than £6 million in music education every year, all across the globe. We also work with organisations around the world, providing donations, scholarships and sponsorship.

Our partnership work is never one-off - we build long-lasting relationships and support ongoing projects. We advocate for music, playing our part to ensure the future of music education and its place in society. Working towards this goal for over a century means that we're a trusted voice at a boardroom table as well as on a concert stage.

Led by our Strategic Leadership Team and Governing Body, our staff members, examiners and volunteers work with passion and dedication to make learning music what it should always be: a joyous and life-enriching experience.
