ABRSM and Music Mark announce a series of roadshow events

ABRSM, the exam board of the Royal Schools of Music, is working in collaboration with Music Mark to bring a series of roadshow events to music teachers across the UK. Each half-day event will focus on progression and creative lesson activities and provide an ideal networking opportunity to local communities of teachers. The ABRSM and Music Mark roadshows will take place in Hull, Gateshead, Leicestershire, Birmingham, Hatfield, Cardiff and Exeter from 1–9 September. Each roadshow will include sessions on musical progression and the role of assessment, effective strategies to teach new repertoire in creative and imaginative ways and explore successful approaches to musical learning that can be utilised for teaching in one-to-one, group and class/ensembles settings. Those presenting at the event include Ali Walker, Jessica O’Leary, Lincoln Abbotts, Rob Farrar and Tom Hewins. ‘These roadshow events are about bringing together different communities of teachers. With that in mind, they offer a great opportunity to network with colleagues and the sessions have been designed to offer practical and inspirational ideas for the new terms teaching.’ said Lincoln Abbotts, Director of Strategic Development at ABRSM. ‘We’re delighted to be working with Music Mark to bring these events to music teachers throughout the UK.’ Attendance at the event costs just £35 per delegate. More information on the roadshow events and booking facility can be found at www.abrsm.org/roadshows.
